LIGHT UP DAY
Get ready for the most magical event of the year Loxton Light Up Day! One of the Riverland’s most popular family festivals, this cherished tradition brings the Christmas spirit to life in a day filled with fun, excitement, and festive cheer for the whole family. Whether you’re a local or visiting, Loxton Light Up Day is an experience you won’t want to miss. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere in East Terrace, where the whole community comes together – it’s the perfect way to kick off the festive season!
Santa will make special appearances with visits from 10am to 1pm, and again from 4pm to 8pm with each child receiving a special gift to make the experience even more magical! Take part in free activities and crafts in the Kids Zone during these times too – for kids of all ages.
Shops will be open all day from 9am until 8:30pm, giving you plenty of time to stock up on Christmas gifts.
Explore the lively twilight markets and enjoy delicious food from 4.30pm. From amusement rides to live entertainment, there’s something for everyone!
The celebrations continue into the evening with local and guest performances on the Main Stage starting at 7.15pm, leading up to the grand finale – the FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR at 9pm! Watch the sky light up with dazzling colours from the banks of the Murray River, officially marking the beginning of the month-long Loxton Christmas Lights Festival.

SHOPS OPEN ALL DAY!
Loxton‘s vibrant, village-style main street offers a truly unique shopping experience with many of our local businesses proudly family-owned or independently operated.
Shops will be open all day on Saturday 30th November from 9am until 8:30pm, giving you plenty of time to tick off your Christmas shopping list while supporting local businesses.
Plus, there will be extended shopping hours in December with special Sunday trading on 15th December and 22nd December from 10am – 2pm, perfect for your last-minute Christmas gifts.

Get ready for a truly enchanting experience this Christmas! Santa is coming to Loxton and he’s bringing the magic. Enjoy an unforgettable encounter with Santa himself as he personally presents you with a special Christmas gift! And to ensure the memory lasts a lifetime, a professional photographer will be available should you wish to capture the joyous moment.

REINDEER ROAD
Get ready for one of the most eagerly awaited activities of Light Up Day and follow the Reindeer Road! Collect a special bag from the Kids Zone, then embark on a fun quest to collect fantastic free gifts from local businesses marked on the map. It’s a treasure hunt of pure Christmas joy that you won’t want to miss!

KIDS ZONE
The Kids Zone is packed with exciting activities for children of all ages! From amusement rides to face painting and free craft activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
New this year, older kids can take on the Christmas Code Cracker challenge – a fun and festive puzzle-solving adventure that will test their sleuthing skills. Those who crack the code can go into the draw to win a $25 Loxton Gift Card!
The Kids Zone is the perfect spot for everyone to play, create, and have a blast while you soak up the festivities of Loxton Light Up Day. There’s plenty of time to join in the fun during open times:

FESTIVE FERRIS WHEEL
Take a ride on the Festive Ferris Wheel right in the middle of town and enjoy spectacular views of the Murray River and surrounds by day, or the magic of Loxton’s Christmas Lights by night.

The Ferris Wheel will stay in Loxton after Light Up Day, for the first week of the Christmas Lights Festival:

TWILIGHT CHRISTMAS MARKET
As the sun starts to set and the stars twinkle, our Twilight Market comes alive with a bustling atmosphere. Explore a curated selection of stalls featuring unique, handcrafted and one-of-a-kind gifts. Find the perfect presents for your loved ones, indulge in a little something special for yourself or simply wander through and enjoy the community atmosphere.

MAIN STAGE ENTERTAINMENT AND FIREWORKS!
Gather family and friends and head to the main stage for an evening full of great entertainment, including local performances by the Loxton High School Choir and the Loxton Community Dance Club.
Raise your glow sticks high as this year we welcome special guests Kozmik Kapers! Kozzie and Luna Mars are quirky explorers who have seen Christmas Wonderland from space, and have landed in Loxton to join in the fun. Get ready to dance, groove, and laugh along with them!
The celebrations continue with a very special Christmas Show featuring Pixie Sparkle and Tinsel the Reindeer. They’re here to spread Christmas cheer with their delightful mix of classic and new carols, bringing smiles and joy to everyone.
As the sun sets and excitement fills the air, gather for the big moment – the countdown to the Fireworks Spectacular! Watch as the sky lights up with a stunning display of color, officially marking the start of Loxton’s Christmas Lights Festival.
